1 Purpose
This document establishes formal requirements for Award Scope and General Requirements within the defined Good Taste Awards standards system.
2 Scope
This document applies to the requirements, decisions, records, controls, and outputs expressly identified under Award Scope and General Requirements. Award scope and exclusions are defined by GTA-STD-100; this document shall not create an additional award dimension. Operational prerequisites identified here affect assessment validity and never constitute product certification.
3 Authority and interpretation
The Standards Authority owns GTA-STD-100; the Standards Authority approves it. formal verbs, defined terms, stable requirement identities, policy constants, and generated representations shall be interpreted under GTA-GOV-002, GTA-GOV-005, and the defined registers.

4 Requirements
GTA-STD-100-R001 — Award construct
The Standards Authority shall recognize only the sensory pleasure of an eligible food or drink product.
GTA-STD-100-R002 — Excluded constructs
The Standards Authority shall keep health, nutrition, safety rating, sustainability, package, price, service, venue, popularity, and commercial status outside the award result.
GTA-STD-100-R003 — Product identity
The Standards Authority shall define the exact formulation, variant, format, preparation state, and market identity covered by an entry.
GTA-STD-100-R004 — Target population
The Standards Authority shall define relevant potential consumers before assessment and prohibit unsupported population-representation claims.
GTA-STD-100-R005 — Eligibility
The Standards Authority shall accept a product only when blind, representative, reproducible, sufficient, and lawful operational assessment is possible.
GTA-STD-100-R006 — Entry separation
The Standards Authority shall treat materially different formulations, flavours, strengths, formats, or preparation states as separate products.
GTA-STD-100-R007 — Applicant declarations
The Standards Authority shall require accurate product, ingredient, preparation, restriction, sample, and rights information.
GTA-STD-100-R008 — Operational prerequisites
The Standards Authority shall treat handling and participation controls as prerequisites rather than award dimensions.
GTA-STD-100-R009 — Assessment route
The Standards Authority shall provide every ordinary accepted product access to the complete staged star pathway.
GTA-STD-100-R010 — Result scope
The Standards Authority shall bind any result, comment, certificate, mark, and claim to the exact assessed product.
GTA-STD-100-R011 — Review boundary
The Standards Authority shall permit review of process, calculation, data, scope, comment, or publication and prohibit a preference re-vote.
GTA-STD-100-R012 — Enforcement
The Standards Authority shall hold, correct, withdraw, or reassess where eligibility, identity, evidence, or public use is materially nonconforming.
5 Entry and applicability determination
| Determination | Required evidence | Conforming state | Nonconforming state |
|---|---|---|---|
| Product boundary | formulation, flavour, strength, format, preparation state, and market identity | one reproducible assessed product | hold for separation or clarification |
| Blind feasibility | neutral coding and presentation plan | prohibited identity cues excluded | refuse or redesign presentation |
| Representative condition | ordinary intended preparation and service instruction | reproducible representative experience | hold until a valid instruction exists |
| Target population | consumption possibility, category relevance, and restrictions | criteria defined before assignment | no panel assignment |
| Sample sufficiency | initial quantity plan and advancement-supply route | access to the complete star pathway | hold, replace, or refuse |
| Operational prerequisites | ingredient, participation, handling, and equipment information | defined operation possible | operational exclusion without an award judgment |
Operational exclusion shall not be described as a finding about taste, quality, safety, nutrition, or suitability. Materially different variants shall receive separate product identities and shall not share a result.
6 Result boundary
A result applies only to the assessed product version. Extension to a product family, another formulation, another strength, another preparation state, or another market identity requires an confirmed equivalence decision or a separate assessment. The submitting organization shall not select assessors, view blind identities, influence preparation after authorization, or condition participation on a desired result.
7 Conformity and records
Conformity with Award Scope and General Requirements requires evidence comprising the source evidence, defined decision, accountable role, and independent or automated verification. The record for each applicable GTA-STD-100 requirement shall permit reconstruction without relying on an unrecorded explanation.
Evidence created under GTA-STD-100 shall use stable identifiers, immutable event sequence numbers, and machine event timestamps. A correction shall be append-only. A nonconformity shall place the affected object in a non-releasable state until its consequence and confirmed disposition are recorded. Role combination remains subject to the mandatory separation rules.
