Put the product's taste in front of a relevant blind panel

Good Taste Awards accepts eligible food and drink for product-specific assessment. Brand, packaging, price and commercial reputation are kept out of the tasting decision.

Before beginning, check that the product is eligible and decide which category best reflects the way it is normally enjoyed.

What an entry provides

An ordinary product entry includes:

  • review of eligibility and product scope;
  • category and preparation assignment;
  • controlled sample receipt and handling;
  • an initial blind assessment by eight eligible assessors;
  • access to the progressive pathway where the evidence supports it;
  • an authorized result and product comment;
  • publication and award resources where a star is awarded.

See fees and what is included.

03

1. Identify the exact product

Enter one materially consistent product: the recipe, flavour, format and serving form that the panel will experience. Recognition does not automatically extend to another variation or to the whole producer range.

04

2. Explain how people normally enjoy it

Provide the intended consumer group, storage condition, serving temperature and any preparation needed to reproduce an ordinary experience. Keep marketing claims and instructions designed only to impress the panel out of the tasting information.

Prepare the product information.

05

3. Follow the product-specific sample instruction

The amount required depends on usable portions, panel progression, preparation loss, reserve needs and natural variation. Do not estimate from an unrelated product or send samples before receiving the shipment instruction.

06

4. Track the assessment stage

The secure entrant account shows whether the entry is awaiting a sample, held for clarification, ready for assessment or at a result stage. Provisional outcomes remain confidential.

Check entry status.

07

5. Receive a result and a considered comment

Every product with a valid initial assessment receives a comment, including products that do not receive a star. The comment explains what supported enjoyment and where the experience became less convincing.

Awarded products receive the applicable public record and award resources. Understand results and comments.
