1 Purpose
This document sets the defined parameters and decision conditions for Rating Scale and Assessment Data Schedule within the defined Good Taste Awards standards system.
2 Scope
This document applies to the requirements, decisions, records, controls, and outputs expressly identified under Rating Scale and Assessment Data Schedule. Award scope and exclusions are defined by GTA-STD-100; this document shall not create an additional award dimension. Operational prerequisites identified here affect assessment validity and never constitute product certification.
3 Authority and interpretation
The Method Authority owns GTA-SCH-201; the Standards Authority approves it. formal verbs, defined terms, stable requirement identities, policy constants, and generated representations shall be interpreted under GTA-GOV-002, GTA-GOV-005, and the defined registers.

4 Requirements
GTA-SCH-201-R001 — Scale anchors
The Method Authority shall define the nine Overall Liking anchors and the neutral midpoint exactly.
GTA-SCH-201-R002 — Integer response
The Method Authority shall accept only whole-number raw values from one through nine.
GTA-SCH-201-R003 — Inability state
The Method Authority shall separate inability to assess from every hedonic value.
GTA-SCH-201-R004 — Descriptive fields
The Method Authority shall define aroma, flavour, texture, balance, integration, finish, strength, limitation, and defect observations.
GTA-SCH-201-R005 — Familiarity and confidence
The Method Authority shall record optional interpretive context without weighting the star calculation.
GTA-SCH-201-R006 — Completion
The Method Authority shall define required, conditional, repeatable, and prohibited response fields.
GTA-SCH-201-R007 — Lock
The Method Authority shall establish the point after which opinion values cannot be replaced.
GTA-SCH-201-R008 — Correction
The Method Authority shall allow only evidence-supported additive correction of administrative error.
GTA-SCH-201-R009 — Aggregate calculations
The Method Authority shall define median, lower quartile, counts, and unrounded boundary evaluation.
GTA-SCH-201-R010 — Publication index
The Method Authority shall define the zero-to-one-hundred display transformation and prohibit decision use.
5 Defined Overall Liking scale
| Value | Anchor |
|---|---|
| 1 | dislike extremely |
| 2 | dislike very much |
| 3 | dislike moderately |
| 4 | dislike slightly |
| 5 | neither like nor dislike |
| 6 | like slightly |
| 7 | like moderately |
| 8 | like very much |
| 9 | like extremely |
Only an integer value within the scale is valid. Inability to assess is a separate state and shall not be encoded as a scale value. A response shall be locked before discussion.
6 Aggregate definitions
For an even number of responses, the median is the arithmetic midpoint of the two central ordered values. The lower quartile is the median of the ordered lower half. Counts and boundaries shall be evaluated from raw values without rounding. The arithmetic mean shall not determine a star candidate.
7 Publication index
The Good Taste Publication Index has a display range of 0 to 100 and uses the defined transformation round(((mean_overall_liking - 1) / 8) * 100). It is explanatory, shall be displayed with the valid response count and result state, and shall not support a claim of statistical significance or comparative superiority.
8 Conformity and records
Conformity with Rating Scale and Assessment Data Schedule requires evidence comprising the source evidence, defined decision, accountable role, and independent or automated verification. The record for each applicable GTA-SCH-201 requirement shall permit reconstruction without relying on an unrecorded explanation.
Evidence created under GTA-SCH-201 shall use stable identifiers, immutable event sequence numbers, and machine event timestamps. A correction shall be append-only. A nonconformity shall place the affected object in a non-releasable state until its consequence and confirmed disposition are recorded. Role combination remains subject to the mandatory separation rules.
