1 Purpose
This document sets the defined parameters and decision conditions for Sample Quantity and Shipment Conditions Schedule within the defined Good Taste Awards standards system.
2 Scope
This document applies to the requirements, decisions, records, controls, and outputs expressly identified under Sample Quantity and Shipment Conditions Schedule. Award scope and exclusions are defined by GTA-STD-100; this document shall not create an additional award dimension. Operational prerequisites identified here affect assessment validity and never constitute product certification.
3 Authority and interpretation
The Assessment Operations Lead owns GTA-SCH-302; the Standards Authority approves it. formal verbs, defined terms, stable requirement identities, policy constants, and generated representations shall be interpreted under GTA-GOV-002, GTA-GOV-005, and the defined registers.

4 Requirements
GTA-SCH-302-R001 — Portion basis
The Assessment Operations Lead shall define usable tasting quantity by category and intended assessment experience.
GTA-SCH-302-R002 — Cumulative route
The Assessment Operations Lead shall calculate initial supply and defined advancement reserve for the complete award pathway.
GTA-SCH-302-R003 — Preparation loss
The Assessment Operations Lead shall account for cooking, trimming, transfer, residue, evaporation, and non-served material.
GTA-SCH-302-R004 — Control portion
The Assessment Operations Lead shall protect quantity for identity, condition, or investigation purposes.
GTA-SCH-302-R005 — Operational reserve
The Assessment Operations Lead shall protect quantity for a documented preparation or service failure.
GTA-SCH-302-R006 — Unit rounding
The Assessment Operations Lead shall convert usable quantity to whole submitted units by upward rounding.
GTA-SCH-302-R007 — Representative-unit minimum
The Assessment Operations Lead shall require multiple units where natural or production variation makes one unit insufficient.
GTA-SCH-302-R008 — Shipment condition
The Assessment Operations Lead shall specify packaging, protection, temperature, handling, and unit identification.
GTA-SCH-302-R009 — Delivery acceptance
The Assessment Operations Lead shall define acceptable, hold, partial acceptance, replacement, refusal, and discrepancy states without lowering the attainable star level.
GTA-SCH-302-R010 — Advancement supply
The Assessment Operations Lead shall authorize sealed reserve or staged equivalent-batch supply before a higher assessment stage begins.
GTA-SCH-302-R011 — Reserve release
The Assessment Operations Lead shall permit reserve use only for a recorded confirmed purpose.
GTA-SCH-302-R012 — Disposition
The Assessment Operations Lead shall control remaining units after assessment while preserving required evidence.
5 Quantity calculation
Let P be the usable quantity in one defined assessment portion, D the number of new valid assessments supplied by the applicable shipment or segregated reserve, L the validated preparation loss for that supply block in the same unit, C = 2P the control quantity, R = P × max(2, 0.1D) the contingency reserve, and Y the verified usable yield of one submitted unit. Required usable quantity is Q = (P × D) + L + C + R. Required submitted units are ceiling(Q ÷ Y).
| Supply block | New valid assessments represented by D | Cumulative valid responses after use |
|---|---|---|
| Initial | 8 | 8 |
| First progressed increment | 4 | 12 |
| Extended increment | 4 | 16 |
| Final increment | 8 | 24 |
The initial supply shall be calculated with D = 8. A later staged shipment shall use only the newly added assessments for D; previously completed assessment portions shall not be charged again. Where all maximum-route supply is delivered and defined as one lot, the complete-shipment calculation may use D = 24 with one validated total preparation-loss basis, one control quantity, and one contingency reserve. The unused advancement quantity shall remain sealed or otherwise segregated until progression is authorized.
Supply for a progressed stage may be held as a defined advancement reserve or provided through a staged shipment. A separately dispatched supply block shall have its own preparation-loss basis, control quantity, contingency reserve, usable-yield verification, and whole-unit rounding. Every staged shipment shall satisfy product-version and batch-equivalence requirements before its evidence is combined with earlier assessment evidence.
An ordinary entry shall not have its attainable star level reduced because a smaller quantity was supplied. Insufficient quantity shall create a hold, replacement, or refusal state. It shall not create a lower award ceiling.
A full retail unit per assessor is not required. Units may yield multiple defined portions where opening, preparation, holding, transfer, and natural variation remain valid. Where unit-to-unit variation is material, the representative-unit minimum shall apply even when the formula would produce fewer units.
6 confirmed supply configurations
| Configuration | Quantity basis | Advancement control | Combination condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Complete shipment | maximum route calculated as one defined supply lot | advancement quantity segregated and released only after authorization | same accepted product version and defined lot basis |
| Initial shipment plus held reserve | initial and advancement blocks calculated and identified separately within one delivery | reserve remains sealed or separately defined | reserve identity and condition remain demonstrably equivalent |
| Initial shipment plus staged supply | initial block supplied first; each later increment calculated when authorized | later block remains outside assessment custody until requested | product version, formulation, process, format, instruction, and material batch characteristics are equivalent |
| confirmed replacement | only the identified shortage, rejected unit, or failed supply block is replaced | original discrepancy and replacement remain linked | replacement shall not be selected using assessment results |
The Assessment Operations Lead shall select the configuration before instruction. A change of configuration shall be recorded before dispatch of the affected block. Additional supply shall not be requested after result information has been disclosed to the entrant.
7 Shipment-instruction minimum content
The individual product instruction shall state submission identity; accepted product scope; required usable quantity and whole-unit count; unit size; representative-unit minimum; supply configuration; separation of initial, control, contingency, and advancement quantities; permitted product and batch identifiers; packaging and protection; transport and storage condition; declared usable-life limit; delivery identity and channel; evidence required at receipt; and prohibited promotional, pricing, award, or assessor-directed material.
Normal production units shall be used. A specially selected, reformulated, reworked, hand-finished, or otherwise non-representative sample shall be a different assessed-product object unless that condition is the ordinary marketed product scope. An entrant may correct a factual shipment error before acceptance but shall not substitute a unit after receiving assessment information.
8 Category quantity record
The quantity plan shall state product form, net usable yield, portion basis, decision stage, preparation-loss basis, control quantity, contingency reserve, whole-unit rounding, representative-unit minimum, sealed reserve, staged-supply conditions, and final accepted quantity. The applicable category module shall determine which measurements are required.
9 Conformity and records
Conformity with Sample Quantity and Shipment Conditions Schedule requires evidence comprising the source evidence, defined decision, accountable role, and independent or automated verification. The record for each applicable GTA-SCH-302 requirement shall permit reconstruction without relying on an unrecorded explanation.
Evidence created under GTA-SCH-302 shall use stable identifiers, immutable event sequence numbers, and machine event timestamps. A correction shall be append-only. A nonconformity shall place the affected object in a non-releasable state until its consequence and confirmed disposition are recorded. Role combination remains subject to the mandatory separation rules.
